Nikhil and Meghna’s surprise proposal at Sandy Hook Beach, NJ was one of the most joyful moments I’ve had the privilege to capture as a New Jersey engagement photographer. From the second they arrived, these two were full of laughter, smiles, and so much love—it made documenting their story effortless and fun. Their proposal was extra special because Nikhil was referred by one of my vendor friends, Angad, a talented wedding DJ in the Indian wedding community! To top it off, Meghna and I actually went to high school together—talk about a small world!
What made this proposal even sweeter was the planning that went into it. Nikhil and I hopped on calls ahead of time to make sure everything felt just right for Meghna. He knew he didn’t want a city skyline backdrop—he wanted something peaceful, natural, and romantic. After a bit of brainstorming, we landed on Sandy Hook Beach, the perfect setting where the ocean, open skies, and golden light could shine as much as their love.
Nikhil and Meghna’s love story began at Rutgers University, where they first met, and the rest is history. The soft ocean waves, the dreamy sunset, and their genuine connection created the perfect backdrop for unforgettable beach proposal photos.
